You will love our carefully selected art and design at Avenue Hotel
The personal touch
“It’s the personal touch that means so much”, is one of our mantras at Avenue Hotel.
And when our hotel was designed by Interior Architect Mikael Mammen, it was essential to us that Avenue Hotel should convey a relaxed and friendly atmosphere but at the same time be functional and efficient.
Designed and made especially for Avenue Hotel
Mikael Mammen has designed and made the furniture in the rooms, the restaurant and the lounge bar especially for Avenue Hotel in collaboration with choice local
carpenters, whereas other items are carefully selected from the show rooms of renowned international designers.
The bedspreads are from the Italian design house, Missoni, in their trademark bold and colourful design. Bedroom lamps are the iconic Bestlite lamps, and you find Smart TV, also known as “The Window to the World”, by Lava in all our rooms.
Staff uniforms are from the bohemian-chic Danish fashion house, DAY Birger et Mikkelsen (women), and the masters of Scandinavian minimalism, Filippa K (men).
Photo art by Claes Bech-Poulsen
The personal touch is also evident in the art on the walls at Avenue Hotel. Mikael Mammen loves photography and has asked a number of acknowledged photographers to recommend wall decoration with high quality photographic art.
The result is a number of awesome sequential photographs. No two photos in our hotel are identical.
One of the most impressive photographers to grace our walls is award-winning food photographer Claes Bech-Poulsen. Make sure to read our mini-interview with Claes Bech-Poulsen
