Ole Troelsø is the Gastronomical Editor at Denmark’s foremost business daily, Børsen, and has eaten at – and reviewed – more than 500 gourmet restaurants worldwide. But when Ole Troelsø feels like a nice, cosy and uncomplicated meal, he always returns to his much-loved smørrebrød, a.k.a. open-faced sandwiches, the only truly Danish contribution to world gastronomy.
In 2012 Ole Troelsø published “Smørrebrød in Denmark” telling the history of smørrebrød and portraying his favourite lunch restaurants. Now he publishes a new, revised guide, “Insiders guide to smørrebrød”, portraying his 30 favourite lunch restaurants, which range from simple open-faced sandwiches to gourmet smørrebrød.
We are happy to report that he includes some of our favourite lunch restaurants in the guide, like cosy Restaurant Kronborg, lively Restaurant Schønnemann and the favourite of the shipping trade, Restaurant Skt. Annæ.
